Theoretical Orientation

I take an integrative approach to my clinical work, utilizing humanistic and interpersonal theories in my case conceptualization. I seek to facilitate exploration of clients’ past and current relationships as well as their current cognitions of themselves and the world. Because I value diversity and social justice, I also strive to view clients’ presenting problems and their life narratives from a lens that takes into careful consideration of relevant multi-cultural and systemic variables.

With the therapeutic relationship as the foundation of my work, I collaborate with clients in identifying goals and working toward meaningful change in a manner that utilizes their strengths and reflects their resilience. My therapeutic approach also incorporates CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) interventions to help clients effectively improve their coping strategies.
